ISO/TS 16949, in synergy with ISO 9001, imparts requirements for the design and development, production and, when relevant, installation and service of automotive-related products.ISO/TS 16949 is applicable to sites of the organization where customer-specified parts, for production and/or service, are manufactured. The BSCIC ISO/TS 16949 certification involves a two-stage audit process for certification:
Stage 1 is a preliminary, informal review of the ISO/TS 16949 , for example checking the existence and completeness of key documentation such as the organization’s Quality Manual, Document containing core tools e.g. SPC, MSA, FMEA, APQP and PPAP etc
Stage 2 is a more detailed and formal compliance audit, independently testing the Quality against the requirements specified in ISO/TS 16949. The auditors will seek evidence to confirm that the management system has been properly designed and implemented, and is in fact in operation (for example by confirming that a committee or similar management body meets regularly to oversee the ISO /TS 16949). BSCIC Certification audits are conducted by ISO/TS 16949 Lead Auditors.
